Concord & 9th Merry Christmas┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Friday, Friends! It’s feature Friday over at Concord & 9th. And, today it’s my last Friday as their guest designer, thus I’d like to share with you a set of “Christmas” interactive inspiration cards made using, Card Stacks Base Die and Home for the Holidays Stacks Bundle to make the shaped card. Yuletide Ornament Bundle to create the shadow box frame card + Assorted Color Cardstock and Ink Cubes Bundle. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made them ↓

Therefore, I started off by creating the interactive card base using the dies including in Card Stacks Base Die along with a large piece of Aqua Sky colored cardstock and a large piece of white cardstock. Thus, I went ahead to line up the dies over the cardstock pieces and then, I ran them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Once, I had that done, I put the die-cutting pieces off to the side and then, I continued to die cut the little houses and every element that I was going to use for the shaped cards. So, to die cut the houses and every element, I used the dies including in Home for the Holidays Stacks Dies set along with pieces of Sorbet, Grapefruit, Stardust, Buttercup, Parsley, Wheat, White and Glitter cardstock.

Next, I went ahead to get the assembling done for the small houses and the card base. The Home for the Holidays Stacks Dies set has a die that add a hill edge, so I went ahead to line it up over the three white pieces to create the snow hills, and then I got them adhere down to the card base. Once, I got the card base assembled, I went ahead to create the wintry village by gluing down with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue each assembled house and trees along with the lamp posts and tiny wreaths over the houses doors.

Right after that I had done, I went ahead to add a snowy background to the card base, a background which I created by using apiece of Oceanside cardstock, a stencil , a craft spatula and Glitter Snow. At first, I decided to create just the wintry sky, but then I decided to add glitter snow as well to the first hill for extra texture. Lastly, I went ahead to stamp and heat emboss a sentiment over a piece of white cardstock using one of the dies including in Home for the Holidays Stacks Stamp Set along with embossing ink and gold embossing powder, a sentiment which right afterwards got die cut out of the cardstock using the banner die including in the set. Then, to finish the card off, I got mounted the sentiment to the card and I got it embellished by gluing down here and there some crystal sequins to add an extra pop of shine to the card.

To create the shadow box card, first I went ahead to stamp with embossing ink the large image including in Yuletide Ornament Stamp Set over a large piece of Aqua Sky colored cardstock, and once I got it stamped, I went ahead to heat emboss it with gold embossing powder. Next, to add depth to it I went ahead to ink up the edges of it with an ink blending brush along with Oceanside Ink. Having that said, after getting the stamping and heat embossing done for the large ornament, I got stamped and heat embossing the holly leaves and berries as well over a piece of Parsley and Sorbet colored cardstock.

Thus, after finishing the stamping and heat embossing for the ornament and the leaves and berries clusters, I went ahead to use the dies including in Yuletide Ornaments Dies set to die cut them out of the cardstock. Once, I had that step done, I got glue down the green cluster to the ornament, and as for the other cluster, I got the berries fussy cut out from the cluster using a small pair of scissors and then, I went ahead to adhere them down to the green cluster with square foam adhesives just to add some dimension to the cluster. So, after having the large ornament embellished, I went ahead to put it off to the side while I went ahead to create the shadow box frame.

As, for the box show frame, I went ahead to die cut 2 white frames with a front opening , so to do that, I went ahead to use two dies from Nesting Rectangle Die set to die cut the frame out of white cardstock. Once, I had that done, I went ahead to trim down two pieces of white cardstock using my paper trimmer to H 5-1/2” x W 1.0” inches. Next, I placed the white pieces over my scoring board tool and then I marked the scoring lines to 1/4”, 1/2” and 3/4”. Therefore, after I’ve got finished marking the scoring lines, I went ahead to create the folds in a mountain and valleys way. Thus, once I had finished folding both pieces, I went ahead to add narrow adhesives to the sides and then, I put them off to the side while I got the stamping done for the card background. So, for the card background stamping process, I used Candy Stripe Background Stamp along with Stardust ink. Having that said, after finishing the stamping for the card background, I went ahead to get the backing of one of white frames adhered over the stamped background, and then I’ve got glue down the folding white pieces to its sides. Next, I removed the backing of the adhesive and then, I got the second frame adhere it to the card base. Lastly, I mounted the ornament along with the die-cutting sentiment, which I’ve gotten previously stamp and heat embossing over a pieces of white cardstock.

You can appreciate how dimensional these cards are in the image above, even though with all that dimension, I want to share with you that they can fit still on an A2 standard size envelope.

Finally, as finishing touches, I went ahead to glue down some crystal sequins to the second example and then, I also got adhered a metallic double knot bow to the ornament, which I’ve had previously created out of a large piece of DMC in metallic gold. And, with that being said friends, I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this set of “Christmas” interactive inspiration cards using some of the just released stamp and die sets by Concord & 9th.
