Butterflies┃Inspiration Card

Happy Friday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you this “Butterflies” inspiration card made using; Essentials Folk Edge Circle Die Set, Butterflies Stamp Set, Butterflies Die Set and Butterflies Stencil Set by Pinkfresh Studio along with this beautiful set, I’ve also used Essentials: Stitched Squares Die Set and Diamond Plaid Stencil Set to create the card base along with PFS- Inks as my color media for the ink process. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

As per usual with every layering stencil set, I started by placing an A2 size white card panel over my Make Art - Stay-tion - 7 Inch. And, then I continued to line up over it the stencil #1 from Butterflies Stencil Set. Once, I had them both line up I went ahead to secure them with the magnets from the metal board, and having that said, I went ahead to ink up the card panel over the stencil using an ink blending brush along with Peach Fuzz Ink.

Thus, as soon as I had finished the ink blending using the first stencil, I went ahead to line up the stencil #2 and then, I’ve gotten the ink blending through it using Ballet Slipper Ink. Next, I went ahead to line up over the card panel stencil #3 and then, I’ve gotten the ink blending through it using Marigold Ink. So on and so forth, I went ahead to ink up stencil #4 along with Coral Reef Ink to ink up the detailed layer for the butterflies and Detail Black Ink to ink up their bodies. Lastly, I used stencil #5 along with Clementine Ink.

This stencil set has Butterflies Stamp Set which happens to be its coordinating stamp for you to add the delicate outline to each butterfly. However, in today’s example I decided not to stamp directly over the inked butterflies so, instead I decided to place inside my MISTI Stamping Tool a large piece of translucent vellum to get the butterflies images stamped with embossing ink, because I was going to get some white heat embossing afterwards. Therefore, as soon as the stamping and heat embossing steps were completed, I went ahead to line over the translucent vellum their coordinating die which happens to be Butterflies Die Set and then, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.

Moving on, as soon as I had finished die-cutting the butterflies out of the translucent vellum, I went ahead to repeat the same step for the inked card panel and one more time out of plain white cardstock. That said, right after that all my die-cutting pieces were completed, I proceeded to start off the assembling for the card. So, to do that, I went ahead to carefully glue down the body of the translucent die-cutting butterflies over the inked die-cutting butterflies using Bearly Art Mini Precision Craft Glue and once I had them both adhered, I also went ahead to adhered the body of it to the plain die-cutting piece. As, you can see by doing that, I ended up with very dimensional 3 layers die-cutting butterflies.

Lastly, after I had finished with the layering for the butterflies, I went ahead to set it off aside so I could start the steps for the card base, So, to do that, I went ahead to use an ink blending brush along with the stencils from Diamond Plaid Stencil Set to ink up a stitched square card panel which I had previously created out of white cardstock using the largest die from Essentials: Stitched Squares Die Set. Therefore, as soon as I had finished ink blending the card panel, I went ahead to adhere the backing of it with double-sided tape to a 4-1/4’’ x 4-1/4’’ inches square white card base. And, as soon as the card base was ready to start the layout for it, I went ahead to glue down with liquid glue a large detailed die-cutting white circle which I had created previously using the largest die from Essentials Folk Edge Circle Die Set as well as a smaller detailed white die-cutting circle which I had created previously in the same way with a smaller die from the same set. However, for the smaller die-cutting circle, I decided to use pieces of craft foam adhesive to add a bit of dimension to it.

Finally, to finish the card layout, I went ahead to glue down the butterfly right in the center of the card and last but not least I also went ahead to get mounted the card sentiment which I had previously stamped and gold heat embossing over a white piece of cardstock. Then, as finishing touches, I went ahead to glue down here and there some jewels from Essentials: Jewel Mix to add a pop of sparkle. And, with that being said friends, I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this “Butterflies” inspiration card.
