Botanical Frame Greeting Cards

Botanical Frame Greeting Cards

Happy, Saturday Friends! On today’s blog, I’ll be sharing with you how I’ve made these Thank you and Encouragement cards on which, I used the Floral Diamond Background Stamp by Pinkfresh Studio. Also, along with the stamps, I used Distress Oxide inks to ink up the backgrounds for today's cards. So, without further ado, let’s jump dive into today’s blog post ↓

To create the ink resist backgrounds, I started by placing the Floral Diamond Background Stamp inside my stamping tool. Next, I picked up the stamp with the stamping tool door, and I lined up a white card panel. Then, I added lots of Embossing Powder Tool because, I was going to white heat emboss the background. Right after, when I was done adding the anti-static powder, I added Embossing Ink to the stamp, and I stamped the image over the white card panel.

Once, I had the coverage needed I removed the first card panel, and I stamped in the same way a second white card panel. Therefore, when both card panels were stamped, I added Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder to them, and I heat set them with my Heat Embossing Gun Tool until the powder was completely melted. Lastly, I ink blended the card panels in 2 different way yet using the same Distress Oxide Ink combination. That being said, I inked up the first card panel from the center to the outer edges with; Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose and Mustard Seed. Soon after the ink blending, I trimmed the edges off from the first card panel slightly smaller than the card base, and I sprayed water to create the oxide effect. Finally, I foam mounted the card panel to an A2 top folding white card base, and I set the card base aside.

Meanwhile, I ran though the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine both botanical dies from the; Frame Builder: Botanical Oval Die Set to die-cut them 4X each out of white cardstock. Once, I had all botanical die-cutting pieces done I stacked them up, and I glue the dimensional botanical pieces down with liquid glue to the card creating that way the oval frame. Finally, to finish the first card off, I foam mounted a sentiment which I had previously gold heat embossed with Metallic Gold Rich Embossing Powder on a piece of white cardstock. By the way the sentiments is from the; Oval Foliage Stamp Set.

After finishing my first card, I started the inking process for the second card. So therefore, I inked up the card panel from the bottom to the top with the same ink combination; Mustard Seed, Spun Sugar and Tattered Rose. To make a difference in between the panels, I inked up this panel with a very light hand for a subtle look.

Right after when the card panel was inked up, I skipped the water but, I trimmed the edges off as usual and I foam mounted the card panel to an A2 top folding white card base. Then, I set the card base aside and I started the die-cutting process.

As for the die-cutting part, I ran through the die-cutting machine the; Frame Builder: Botanical Oval Die Set to die-cut both dies out of white cardstcok in the same as I did in the first example. Because, the botanical die-cutting pieces were dimensional they were able to resist the heat embossing so, I went ahead to clear heat emboss both pieces with Clear Gloss Embossing Powder for an extra dimensional shiny look. Finally, to finish the card off, I foam mounted a sentiment which, I had gold heat embossed from the same stamp set on a piece of white cardstock.

As finishing touches, I glued down here and there Crystal Confetti for an extra touch of shine. I wish you were able to see the difference between the plain white die-cutting and the shiny look from the clear heat embossing.
