Bixby Arch Cards

Bixby Arch Cards

Hello and welcome to the new Simon’s Says Stamp DieCember release day. On today’s blog I’m featuring the new Bixby Arch Wafer Die from this release with which I had created these 2 greeting cards. This die is so versatile as you can use it in 3 different ways. But in this case as used it as one single die.

So Let’s Get Started

For the first example I created a Clean and Simple card with white and kraft card stock. I started by scoring an A2 size side folding card, next I cut out of white card stock by using the Bixby die and a die cutting machine. My first thought was to create a white on white card, but I decided to add a pop of color by adhering kraft card stock in between the whites as you can see in the pictures.

For the layering I wrapped around a piece of Jute or Golden Fiber string before adhering the card panel to its base, then I adhered the die cutting Love You word that I had previously die cut out of kraft and white card stock, also I adhered a sentiment that I gold heat embossed in a piece of white card stock from the Tiny Words stamp set. Last but not least I adhered the flowers and I added jewels in the middle of them, to finish it off I added Nuvo Shimmer Pen on top of the love you word

For the second example I created a Holiday Greeting card, for this card I started with a white card base that measured H5.5” X W 11.5” then I created the 2 scoring lines. The first was at the 2.12” and the next one at 6 3/8” as I was trying to keep a standard A2 size card. Next in the flap that was larger than the one in the bottom I used the Bixby die for the die cutting.

For the layering I adhered a piece of Schoolhose Red card stock to give it a touch of the Holiday season, but definitely this die could be use all year long. Then I stamped a sentiment from Christmas Wishes stamp set, and I used the flowers from the die cutting as embellishments as you can see in the picture above. To finish it off I added a few clear jewels in the middle of the flowers and 2 more on the side of the sentiment to balanced it out.
