Birthday Slider Cards

Birthday Slider Cards

Happy Thursday Friends! Today I’m kicking off my birthday weekend by sharing with you a few slider cards that I made featuring the June’s Large Die of the Month by Spellbinders called Festive Wreaths Slider Card. Along with the Large die of the Month, I also used the Super Chill patterned paper pad, the Super Chill Die-cut Shapes, the cardstock, and a few more elements included in the June’s Card Kit of the Month. Before I keep going let me tell you that this die is so much fun as consist in a mechanism of three dies to die-cut the slider card base, and 18 more little dies to create die-cuttings to embellish the slider card for any season.Even though, I didn’t use any of the little dies I wanted to mention the endless possibilities using this die. That being said, I’d like you to keep on reading the post to see pictures of the cards that I’ve made for this post. ↓

So… to begin with, I started by selecting coordinated patterned paper from the Super Chill patterned paper pad. Once, I was done selecting the patterned papers I used coordinated solid color cardstock for the inside panels as I was planning to stamp a small sentiment inside the slider part of the card. Then, I selected some of the Super Chill Die-cut Shapes to embellish the cards. Right after following all the previous steps, I proceeded to run the two dies that create the top part of the slider for each card.

For the first example, I made a butterfly card by coordinating the butterfly die-cut shapes with the butterfly pattern paper as you can see in the picture above. For the piece that slides up and down, I used the baby blue cardstock. Lastly, as the card panel I used the yellow cardstock. Once, all the pieces were ready to adhere, I adhered the backing of the yellow card panel to a white card base, which was included in the kit. Next, I followed the scored part of the backing of the slider to adhere the blue piece that slides up and down with double-sided tape. Then, I added foam mounting tape to the edges of the backing from the slider to add dimension to make the slider mechanism work properly, and before I adhered it to the card base I decided to stamp a sentiment inside, so once the recipient slides it will reveal the sentiment inside. Finally, to finish the card off I adhered the top part of the slider to the card base, and I adhered the center of two butterflies with liquid glue to make them appear dimensional + two of the leaves underneath the butterflies. Also, I adhered one of the banner die-cut shapes in the top part of the slider. And, last but certainty not least I adhered some of the gold sequins here and there for a shiny look. (by the way the gold sequins are also included in the kit.)

For the second example, I repeated the same exact steps as the previous example for the slider part. However, I changed the design a bit by using the second coordinated patterned papers, and the balloons, and dog balloon die-cut shapes as you can see in the picture above.

As for the sentiment, I stamped a For You sentiment inside the slider.

For the third example, I used the third selected patterned paper color combo. So, to coordinate the patterned papers, I decided to use the candles, and one of the rounds die-cut shapes.

For the inside part instead of stamping, I adhered one of the journal cards included in the kit to complement the sentiment. Because… you wouldn’t love to be awarded with happiness in such of special date.

For the fourth, and last example I decided to go for a masculine version out all four cards by selecting the elephant die-cut shape, and blue tones with the beautiful patterned papers.

For the inside, I stamped the same sentiment as the second card.

Well, as you can see, I kept the same idea for all four cards. So, I hope these cards inspire you to give these designs a try, or the Spellbinders Dies, and Card Kit a try!
