TT Alluring Orchid Stamp & Crafting Dies ┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Friday, friends! I hope you’re doing well, on today’s blog post I’d like to share with you these “Birthday and With Love” cards that, I made last week with the Alluring Orchid Stamp and Alluring Orchid Crafting Dies sets by Technique Tuesday from their Greenhouse Society collection. So, without further ado let’s jump to the step by step on how-to-make them↓

To begin with, I started by placing inside my stamping tool a Strathmore 400 Series Watercolor Paper card panel. Next, I placed on one side of the watercolor card panel the floral image from the Alluring Orchid Stamp, I say one side because the card panel was larger enough to stamp twice the image. So therefore, I picked up the stamp and I prepped the card panel with Embossing Powder Tool. Right after that, I stamped the image with Embossing Ink on one side then, I rotated the card panel and I stamped once again the floral images. Lastly, after the stamping I gold heat embossed the images with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich and I heat set the powder with my WOW! Heat Embossing Gun Tool until the powder was completely melted.

Once the gold heat embossing was finished, I placed the card panel over my Mini Media Mat and I did a quick water-coloring using a mix of Pink/Magenta, Red and Green hues. By the way, the mini media mat way is a great tool for water-coloring in case you want to give it a try. That said, for the second floral images, I kept it simple by adding a bit of Gray and Gold to create a bit of shadow nothing too crazy nevertheless I added a pop of color by adding a bit of yellow. So, after the water-coloring I set the card panel aside to dry and I started to make the card bases.

For the first card base, I ran through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine a Light Gray card panel along with the largest die from the Essential Stitched Labels Crafting Dies. So, after die-cutting the card panel, I ended up with a positive and negative piece. As for the positive piece, I set it aside and I used the negative to create the window frame for the shaker card. To make the shaker window, I adhered down the backing of the frame with double-sided tape to an acetate panel. Then, I placed the panel inside my stamping tool and I gold heat embossed the “Birthday” sentiment over it following the embossing steps that, you’ve read millions of times on my blogs. As, you can see I kept the sentiment on the right side of the card panel because, I was planning to adhere the floral image once I die-cut it out of the watercolor cardstock. After finishing the heat embossing, I trimmed the edges of the card panel to H 5.0’’x W 3-3/4’’ inches and I added pieces of foam mounting tape to the perimeter of the frame. Lastly, I added lots of Crystal Confetti in the center of an A2 top folding white card base, and to finish the shaker card off, I peeled the backing off the foam mounting tape and I adhered it to the card base.

The second card was much easier to make however, I decided to add texture to the white card panel so before I adhered the negative die-cutting piece that I have left from the previous card. I placed an A2 size white card panel over my scoring board and I marked every 1/8’’ of an inch.

So, right after I was done marking the lines, I flipped the card panel over and trimmed the edges down with the paper trimmer slightly smaller than the card base. Once, the edges were off from the card panel, I adhered it down with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base followed by the negative stitched label die-cutting which, I mounted in the center with foam mounting tape.

NOTE: I hope, you’re able to see the texture from the scoring marks in the image above.

At this point my second card base was complete so, all I have left was to run through the die-cutting machine the water-colored images along with the coordinated die to die-cut the floral clusters out the watercolor cardstock. Besides the floral clusters, I also ran through the die-cutting machine the word dies to die-cut them out 2X out of white cardstock and 1X out of gold cardstock to create the sentiment. Once, all die-cutting pieces were done, I stacked them all, and I glued them down with liquid glue creating that way the “With Love” sentiment which I adhered down on the right side of the stitched label.

Finally, to finish the cards off, I mounted each of the floral cluster with foam square adhesives to their card bases and I glued down with liquid glue some crystal confetti to the second card to complement the shine from the shaker card. And to add even more dimension and shine, I coated with Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen the flowers and I added Glossy Accent to their filaments. With that being said, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step by step on how I’ve created today’s “Birthday and With Love” showcasing the; Alluring Orchid Crafting Dies sets by Technique Tuesday.
