Tiding Of Great Joy┃Inspiration Card

Happy Monday, Friends! On today’s blog, I will be sharing with you another holiday inspiration card made with a “Pop-Up Twist” look using: Tidings of Great Joy Stamp, Tidings of Great Joy Stencil and Tidings of Great Joy Die to create the frame and front card opening plus, Wintry Forest Stencils to add the wintry background. And lastly, PFS- Inks to add the pops of colors to the card. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

Therefore, I started off by getting the stamping process done over an A2 size white card panel. So, to do that, I used the holiday frame stamp image included in Tidings of Great Joy Stamp along with the MISTI Stamp Tool for a precise stamping. Next, for the stamping and heat embossing process, I used: Magic Powder Bag to remove the static from the paper, Brutus Monroe Embossing Ink to get the image stamped over the card panel, and Metallic Embossing Powder- Gilded along with the Wow Embossing Powder Dual Speed Heat Tool to get the heat embossing done.

Once, I had gotten finished the stamping and heat embossing steps over the card panel, I had gone ahead to add the pops of colors to the holiday frame. Thus, for that step, I used some of ink blending brushes along with Ballet Slipper Ink, Coral Reef Ink, Marigold Ink, Tidal Pond Ink, and Evergreen Ink to ink up the leaves, house and berries.

Thus, as soon as, I had finished getting the layered stenciling to the holiday frame, I proceeded to use the die included in Tidings of Great Joy Die along with my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to die cut out the center part from the frame. So, right after that I got the die-cutting process completed, I went ahead to put the detailed frame off to the side to get the layered stenciling process done for the card background.

So, for the layered stenciling for the card background, I went ahead to use an ink blending brush along with the stencils included in Wintry Forest Stencils. That being said, to keep it simple, I used only Evergreen Ink to create the wintry gradient look. However, to add an extra glittery texture to it, I used the last stencil along with one of the Tonic Studios Nuvo Media Spatulas and Glitter Snow. Thereupon, after I had finished creating the wintry background over the card panel, I proceeded to trim off 1/4 of an inch from each side using my Paper Trimmer and then, after that, I got its backing adhered with double-sided adhesive to an A2 size top folding white card base.

Moving on, after getting the wintry background adhered to the card base, I went ahead to put it off aside to start the creating for the pop-up effect. Thus, I went ahead to trim down a white cardstock piece to W 5-3/4 x H 5-1/2 inches. And then, I placed the cardstock piece with the wider side horizontally over my Scoring Board to get some scoring lines traced using my Teflon Bone Folder at 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 5.0, 5-1/4, and 5-1/2 inches point marks.

Nevertheless, after getting the scoring lines traced over the cardstock piece, I went ahead to fold them over in a mountain, valley and mountain way on each side. Once, I had that step completed, I went ahead to line up the die-cutting holiday frame in the center of the cardstock; a holiday frame which, I had created earlier to cut out the window in the same exact place.

That being said, to make it simple, I used a pencil to trace over the die-cutting opening from the frame over the large piece of cardstock making that way an easy way to line up the die in the exact spot. Thus, after getting that done, I proceeded to cut out the center part of the frame and once I had that done, I went ahead to get the backing of the die-cutting frame adhered with double-sided adhesive over the cardstock pieces

Lastly, after getting them layered over, I went ahead to get the large piece of cardstock adhered to the card base. So, to do that, I added pieces of narrow double-sided adhesive to the front of both ends from the large piece of cardstock to get them adhered to the card base that already had the wintry background adhered in a way which, you can see in the image above. Consequently, after getting it adhered to the card base, I went ahead to add finish the card off by getting the dimensional card sentiment. A card sentiment which, I created using one of the card sentiment stamps and coordinating die from the stamp and die sets.
