On today’s examples I Mixed, and Matched the heat embossed backgrounds to create the card panels. My first thought was to create a card panel with each color, then I thought about mixing both card panels for a different look. So, to begin with I started by inking it up two white card panels using sticky embossing ink, and the Outline Butterflies background stamp by Simon Says Stamp. Then, I applied Primary Bluetiful embossing powder on top of one of the card panels, and Opaque Bright White embossing powder on top of the other one. Once, the card panels were covered with the embossing powders I heat set them with a heat tool until the embossing powders were completely melted. Soon after, I aligned the corners of each card panel with the paper trimmer to make an angular cuts to each of them.
Right after the cuts were done, I switched the colors out by continuing the background pattern. But as you might know by doing that I had to hide where the cuts were joined. So, to hide them out I cut out of gold card stock a skinny strip which I adhered right on top of the joining line.

For the second card panel I repeated the same steps as the first example. Once, I had both card panel ready I started the cards layouts by adhering each of them to an A2 standard size white side folding card base with foam mounting tape.

To kept it simple, I white heat embossed in a piece of vellum two butterflies from the Comfort & Prayers stamp set, once they were heat set it I fussy cut them, and I adhered them to the card panels. As for the sentiment I use the Thanks die to cut out of white card stock 3X the top layer, because I was going to stack them up for dimension ( I repeated this step twice as I was going to use a Thanks for each card.) Once, the die cuttings were done I stacked 3 per each card, and I adhered the backed of the finishing thanks to its shadow layer, which I had previously die cut it out of vellum.

To finish both cards off I adhered each of the Thanks die cuttings to the cards, as you can see I adhered one on the upper side of the card, and the other in the lower side. Last but not least I complemented the Thanks die cutting by gold embossing in a piece of white card stock a sentiment (also included in the same stamp set.) As a finishing touch for the butterflies bodies I added a little dimensional detail by using Crystal Drops in Caribbean Ocean, and for a sparkly touch I adhered some crystal sequins here and there, and I covered the entire butterflies with shimmer by using the Nuvo Aqua Simmer Pen.

So, that’s all for today friends! I hope these cards inspire you to give these designs, and the challenge a try! As always I appreciate the time you take to read my blog posts.
