Thank you Spring Greeting Cards

Thank you Spring Greeting Cards

Hi friends, welcome back to my blog! On today’s blog I’ll be sharing with you the last 2 cards, that I made to play along with the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Group “Spring has Sprung” theme.
So without further ado let’s jump into the blog!

For the first card I started by spraying with the new Distress Oxide Sprays in the colors:
— Cracked Pistachio
— Mermaid Lagoon
Once the inks were dry out I heat embossed tone on tone the background using the Outline Leaves Background Stamp along with Oasis embossing powder. Soon after I was done with the heat embossing I trimmed down the card panel leaving a white border, and I adhered it to an A2 standard size side folding white card base.

Once the card panel was adhere it to the card base I set it aside. In the meanwhile I created the Spring die cuttings by running twice the Spring die along with pieces of white card stock through the die cutting machine. Soon after the die cuttings were done I glued them down one on top of the other, as I wanted them to be sturdy so they could resist the glitter embossing that I was planning to apply. As you can see by adding Diamond White embossing glitters to the die cuttings I ended up with 2 beautiful Glittery Spring die cuttings for both cards.
Because I decided to create a second card, I set the die cuttings aside while I started the second one.

For the second card I sprayed the entire white card panel with distress oxide spray in — Cracked Pistachio at first I thought about just left it as it was, but I decided to added a few splatters using — Mermaid Lagoon, as for the design I kept it simple by using the same background stamp. However, for this card I decided to used Under the Sea glitter embossing powder instead of regular powder.

Once the card panel glitter embossed I adhered it to a white side folding card base, even though the glitter its hard to capture in photography I hope can peek the shine from it in the picture above.

As for the card layout I decided to wrapped around shiny white thread underneath the Spring die cutting which I placed in one of the lower sides on each card. Once the Spring die cuttings were placed I adhered the compliment sentiments (that I had previously gold heat embossed from another stamp set in white card stock) to each card with foam mounting tape, and to finish the cards off I adhered crystal clear sequins here and there for a touch of sparkle.

Note: the gold heat embossing sentiments are from the Fruit From The Heart stamp set.
