Technique Tuesday October Release Greeting Cards

Happy Sunday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you these two Holiday cards that, I made featuring Holly Stamp & Holly Crafting Dies sets from the new October’s Greenhouse Society collection by Technique Tuesday. With that being set, please keep on reading the blog post ↓

To begin with, I started by inking it up a Strathmore Bristol Smooth card panel with a combination of Red, Coral and Peach color inks. Once, the card panel was inked up, I set it aside until the inks were dry. Right after, when the inks were dry, I used my Embossing Powder Tool because, I was going to create a pattern on the card panel using; The Holly Stamp Set and Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. So, to create the pattern, I stamped the Leaves and Berries cluster from the stamp set with Embossing Ink (I repeated this step a few times, until the whole card panel was stamped) Then, I added the white embossing powder to the stamped images and, I heat set the powder with the Heat Embossing Gun Tool until the powder was completely melted. Lastly, after the heat embossing, I trimmed the edges of the card panel a bit smaller than a standard A2 size card base, and I adhered the backing of the card panel with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base. To finish the card off, I gold heat embossed a sentiment on a piece of white card stock and I used one of the label dies from the Essential Stitched Labels Crafting Dies to die-cut it out of the white card stock (by the way the sentiments is included in the Holly Stamp Set) As, you can see, after I was done die-cutting the label, I adhered the backing of the label to a piece of Metallic Embroidered Thread then, I adhered the backing of them to the card with foam mounting crafting tape to add dimension.

For the second example, instead of stamping the whole card panel, I decided to make a clean and simple card by white heat embossing the large image from the stamp set in a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth as, I was going to watercolor the berries and leaves as you can see in the picture above. The colors that I used for the berries; were the same color combination that, I used for the inked background. After, the water coloring, I ran through the die-cutting machine the water colored image along with the Holly Crafting Dies to die-cut the leaves and berries cluster out of the white card stock. As, for the card panel itself, I used the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder to dry embossed it, so right after the dry embossing, I trimmed the edges of the card panel and I adhered the backing of it to an A2 top folding white card base with double-sided tape. Lastly, to finish the card off, I adhered the backing of a label that I had previously gold heat embossed and die-cut out white card stock with double-sided tape in the same way that I did for the first example. For leaves and berries cluster, I adhered the back of it with foam mounting tape because, I wanted to create some dimension in between them.

Finally, as finishing touches, I adhered a piece of Ivory Burlap String to the second card and, a few Moonshine Confetti Sequins here and there for a sparkly look. As well as, I added Glossy Accent to the berries on the first card which, by doing that the glossy accent made the ink to react creating a effect of a totally different color once was completely dry. So, that’s all for today friends! I hope these cards inspire you to give these designs a try!
