Sweet Blooms Stencil┃Shaker Inspiration Card

Happy Saturday, crafty friends! On today’s blog I’d like to share with you a sweet and simple “Shaker” card made using Sweet Blooms Cling Stamp and the newest and awesome addition Sweet Blooms Coordinated Stencil Set by Pinkfresh Studio. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I’ve made it ↓

To begin with, I started by placing inside my MISTI Stamping Tool a Strathmore Watercolor Panel. Then right after that, I lined up the Sweet Blooms Cling Stamp over the watercolor card panel and once both were line up, I went ahead to stamp twice the image over the card panel with Detail Black Ink.

Therefore, after I had the image stamped over the card panel, I removed it from the stamping tool and I temporarily adhered over it the leaves stencil from the Sweet Blooms Coordinated Stencil Set then, I transferred them to my Make Art Mini Stay-Tion All-in-One Magnetic Surface. Once the card panel and stencil were onto place, I extra secured them with the magnets from the magnetic surface and then, I’ve proceeded to get the ink blending done.

For the ink blending, I used for the leaves Mint ink and a touch of Storm ink to add depth. So, after the leaves were inked over the panel, I removed the stencil and I moved on to temporarily adhere the second stencil with the large flowers layer. For the large flowers, I used Peach Fuzz ink and Coral Reef ink to add depth as I did for the leaves. Lastly, I removed the second stencil and I temporarily adhered the third and last layer which is for the small flowers so, for the small flowers I only used Coral Reef ink. I could have left the inking as is but, I decided to take a step further by adding even more depth using Pale Vermilion and Yellowed Orange Prismacolor pencils.

Moving on, after I had the ink blending done over the card panel, I removed the last stencil from it and I went ahead to trim the edges off using my paper trimmer and soon after that, I adhered the backing of it with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base. So, after I had that done, I lined up over a watercolor panel the 2 largest dies from the Essentials: Stitched Rectangles Die Set and once I had them line up, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine first, to add the stitching detail and second to die-cut the frame out of the watercolor panel to create the shaker window. That said, after I had the first stitched die-cutting frame dine, I repeated that step 2 more times because I wanted to add sturdiness to it so, once I have them done, I stacked them together and I adhered a piece of acetate to the baking of it to seal the shaker window.

So, after I had the shaker window frame and card base done, I went ahead to start the assembling so to do that, I added Crystal Confetti to the card panel and then I mounted the shaker window frame with skinny strips of foam mounting tape to add even more dimension. Lastly, to finish the card off, I adhered the stitching tag sentiment which, I had previously stamp with Detail Black ink on a piece of watercolor paper using one of the sentiments from the You Can Change the World Stamp Set and one of the tag dies from the Essentials: Shaker Tags. Finally, after having the sentiment adhered to the shaker frame window, I embellished the card by adhering a double-tided bow which I had previously created using a wooden button and a piece of natural burlap string.
