Hello, Friends! It’s Simon Says Stamp - DIECEMBER release day YAY!!! So, therefore, on today’s blog I’ll be sharing with you a “Thank You” tag/bookmark made using the just released Autumn Splendor Die. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓
To begin with, I started by placing the just released Autumn Splendor Die over a large piece of Strathmore Watercolor Paper. Next, after I had them both line up, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to dry emboss the die over the cardstock following the instruction of my die-cut machine.
Therefore, after I’ve had finished dry embossing the die over the watercolor cardstock, I went ahead to quickly water-coloring the dry embossed image with a mix of hues that I’ve had previously mixed on my mixing palette using my White Nights Watercolor Palette. Thus, after I’ve had finishing water-coloring the dry embossed image, I went ahead to set it off to the side to let the painting dry. Meanwhile, I went ahead to run thru my die-cut machine once again the die along with a large piece of white cardstock but, this time to completely die-cut the leafy piece. It might sound complicate or weird to you but, after I’ve finished die-cutting the leafy piece, I went ahead to lined up the die over the water-colored and dried embossing image and I ran them through the die-cutting machine to die-cut it out of the watercolor cardstock this time without caring so much about die-cutting the inner parts of the die-cutting since I was going to place the other on top of it.
Moving on, after I’ve finished die-cutting the dried embossing image, I went ahead to stack the other die-cutting piece over it and then, I added Glossy Accent to the berries. So, while I was waiting for the glossy accent to get dry, I went ahead to create the tag base so to do that, I lined up over a large piece of Neenah Desert Storm 80lb Cardstock the largest die from Stitched Banner Die Set and I ran them thru my die-cut machine. Then, I repeated the same step once again because, I also wanted this tag to be a bookmark. Thus, after I’ve had both die-cutting pieces done, I went ahead to place one of them over my scoring board tool to mark a scoring line and then I folding over and adhered to the other creating that way a hinge for the tag/bookmark could open and close.
Lastly, I went ahead to die-cut a second tag but this time using a smaller die and white cardstock so therefore, after I’ve had finished die-cutting the second tag, I went ahead to adhered it down over the larger tag using craft foam tape to add a bit of dimension. Then, to finish the Tag/Bookmark off, I went ahead to mount die-cutting leafy piece on the left side of the tag and last but certainly not least, I went ahead to mount a dimensional Thank You sentiment which I’ve had previously created and gold heated emboss using 30 Days of Thankful Stamp Set, 30 Days of Thankful Die Set and WOW! Metallic Gold Rich. As a finishing touch, I glued down with liquid glue a few sequins to add a touch of sparkle and I added a piece of string as well as a small gold brad to secure the piece string. With that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step on how I’ve made this “Thank You” tag/bookmark. As always, I appreciate the time that takes you to read my blog posts.
