Spellbinders’ Modern Essentials & Bold Type Collection ︱Inspiration with Yasmin

Happy Sunday, friends! On today’s blog, I’ll be sharing this clean and simple, yet very dimensional card that I made combining the; Modern Essentials and Bold Type Sentiments collections by Spellbinders. Honestly, these collections are definitely a must have in your stash because, not only the Essential Etched Dies create an intricate dotted edges but, also works perfectly with the new; Essential Glimmer Hot Foil Plates which is a good addition for a perfect and elegant foiled accent on your cards. So, without further ado, let’s jump to the step by step on how I made it ↓

To begin with, I started by turning on the Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform. While the platform was heating up, I lined up over a white card panel the first 2 largest square dies from the; Nestabilities Essential Squares Etched Dies set. Next, I ran the dies along with the cardstock through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to die-cut the first square layer.

To keep creating the layers for the card, I placed over the same square layer the sixth-to-last square die from the same set, and I ran them through the die-cutting machine. By the time that I was done with the second layer my platform was ready to foil so, I took the negative layer out from the die-cutting, and I placed it on my crafting mat then, I placed over it the fifth-to-last glimmer hot foil plate from the; Essential Glimmer Squares Hot Foil Plates right after, I created a hinge with low-tack tape to keep it in place. Once the plate was in place, I cut a piece of foil out from the Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Magenta with sharp scissors and I placed in between the plate and the cardstock.

To secure them in place, I used another piece of low-tack tape and I transfer them to the platform. While the plate was heating up, I lined up the fifth and sixth-to-last dies from the Nestabilities Essential Squares Etched Dies set. Once they were lined up, I ran them through the die-cutting machine along with a white piece of cardstock creating that way a third layer for the card. At this point, I had the largest layer with the intricate dotted, the negative square from the largest die-cutting square foiled and the third layer done. So therefore, I continued a pattern by foiling the fourth-to-last glimmer plate with the same Magenta foil over the third layer.

Lastly, to finish the die-cutting and foil layers, I ran through the die-cutting machine the fourth-to-last square die to die-cut it out of white cardstock. Then, I foiled the last layer with the same foil and with the third-to-last glimmer plate. To finish the foiling process, I placed the Hey, You! sentiment over the platform to foiled with the same foil color over white cardstock. By the way the sentiment is from the; More Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plates.

To assemble the card first; I adhered down with liquid glue the backing of the largest intricate dotted layer to a square hot pink cardstock. Second; I inlaid the negative foiled square with foam mounting tape to add dimension. Third; I foam mounted the center of the third square die-cutting however, because they were the same size, I decided to turn in sideways creating that way a diamond shape with it. Fourth; I finished the pattern by foam mounting the last layer as shown in the image above.

Finally, to create the sentiment, I ran through the die-cutting machine the embossed stripes die from the Die D-Lites Bold Type Smile Etched Dies to die-cut it out of Watermelon Fusion Cardstock which, by the way it happens to be the same color cardstock that I used for the card layering. So, once I had that layer done, I ran the solid die from the set to die-cut it 1X out of gold cardstock and 1X out of fun foam. To finish the dimensional die-cutting sentiment off, I stacked the solid layers and I adhered them down with liquid glue to the embossed stripes layer. Last but not least, I finished the card by adhering right in the center the dimensional Smile die-cutting sentiment, and I adhered with foam mounting tape as shown in the image above the Hey, You! sentiment which, I had foiled earlier during the foil process.
