Happy Thursday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a delicate set of holiday inspiration cards made with a “Decorative & Subtle Glimmering” look showcasing the latest; Joyful Christmas Collection by Simon Hurley for Spellbinders. Which includes: Retro Ornaments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set, Geo Snowflakes Glimmer Hot Foil Plate, Joyful Christmas Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set, and Candy Stripes Etched Dies. So, without further ado let’s jump right in to the step-by-step for how I made them ↓
Therefore, for the first example, I went ahead to do the hot foil stamping process for all examples so, to do that, I proceeded to use the Glimmer Hot Foil System along with the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Then, I used an A2 size white card panel to get the hot foil stamping done over it for the ornaments using, the hot glimmering plate included in Retro Ornaments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set along with a large piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Blush.
Thus, after getting the ornaments hot foil stamped over the card panel, I proceeded to put it off to the side. Meanwhile, I continued to cut out the intricate die-cutting frame so, to do that, I went ahead to line up over the die-cutting plate the two dies included in Candy Stripes Etched Dies to cut out from white cardstock the intricate candy stripes background not only once but twice.
Moving on, after getting the die-cutting process done for the intricate panels, I’ve gone ahead to layer them both together and then, I flipped the one in the bottom upside down to create the diamond striped look. That being said, after getting that done, I proceeded to get them gluing down over an A2 size Kraft top folding base. Next, I used the Paper Trimmer to get the white card panel with the hot foil stamping done, trim down a little smaller than the card base. Then, I went ahead to get the backing of the smaller card panel adhered with craft foam adhesive to add dimension over the card base and then, I got the card finish off by adding its sentiment; sentiment which, I had gotten hot foil stamped and cut out from white cardstock using the glimmer plates and dies included in Joyful Christmas Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set.
Then, for the second example, I used the hot foil stamped background that I created over an A2 size Kraft panel using Geo Snowflakes Glimmer Hot Foil Plate along with a large piece of the white foil included in Glimmer Hot Foil 2 Rolls - Opaque Black & White Pack. So, I went ahead to trim down 1/4 of an inch from each side and then, I got its backing adhered with double-side adhesive to an A2 size top folding white card base.
Next, I used another white card panel on which I had gotten hot foil stamped the ornaments but this time, I used their coordinating die to cut them out from the card panel. Also, I got cut out a few more out of plain white cardstock to add dimension once I got them layered together. That being said, I went ahead to layer them together and then, I got their backing gluing down over the front card panel.
Lastly, unlike the first example, I decided to add a little interest to the ornaments so, to do that, I used the dies included in Christmas Blooms Etched Dies along with non-traditional cardstock hues for the holidays to create the smaller poinsettia clusters. Then, to finish the card off, I went ahead to get the smaller clusters gluing down to the ornaments and then, I also added the card sentiment to the lower right part of the card.
For the last example, I went ahead to make a similar design as the previous example however, I omitted using the ornaments so, instead of using the ornaments, I used the same dies to create the holiday floral cluster.
Next, I used the leftover foil piece from the previous example along with the Solid Hot Foil Plate to create a reverse hot foil for the card background over an A2 size Kraft panel. So, after getting that step done, I proceeded to trim down 1/4 of an inch from the card panel and then, I went ahead to get it backing adhered with double -sided adhesive to an A2 size top folding Kraft base.
Lastly, after getting the card panel adhered to its base, I proceeded to create the holiday floral cluster in the center part of the right side of the card and then, I got the card finished off by adding its sentiments as well. By the way, I also used Joyful Christmas Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set for the card sentiments in the second and last example.
Finally, as a finishing touch, I used my Jewels Picker and Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue along with some of the Rhinestones Sunlight Gold to add each card an extra touch of shine! And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this delicate set of holiday inspiration cards with a “Decorative & Subtle Glimmering” look showcasing the latest; Joyful Christmas Collection by Simon Hurley for Spellbinders.
