Happy Sunday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’ll be sharing with you a set of 5 “Colorful & Dimensional” cards along with a dimensional “Bookmark” made using Die Cut Shapes, Tags, Chipboard Stickers, Sequins, Die Set, Stamp Set and the Patterned Paper Pad included in JAN-2021 “Lucky Love” Card Kit of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step for how I’ve made them ↓
As per usual with every Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month, I started by selecting the die cut shapes and patterned paper sheets that I was going to use to create each card so therefore, I started by making this colorful rainbow card thus, to do that I went ahead to trim off the edges from this beautiful patterned paper to H 5-1/8 x W 3-7/8’’ inches.
Next, to add the gold frame to it, I went ahead to get adhered the colorful card panel to a H 5-1/4” x W 4.0’’ inches Gold card panel which I had already trim off out the gold cardstock included in the card kit. That said, after I’ve gotten both adhered together, I went ahead to adhere them both with the double-sided tape included in the kit over one of the A2 size textured White card bases included in the kit.
Thus, after I’ve had finished adhering the card panel to the card base, I went ahead to get the card embellished using the rainbow and sentiments die cut shapes along with some chipboard gold hearts and the shiny gold sequins which are also included in the kit.
For the second card, I’ve gone ahead to trim off the edges from one of the patterned papers and then, I went ahead to get it adhere to the card base using the double-sided tape included in the kit.
Next, I went ahead to create a dimensional navy Polaroid frame by trimming off a piece of the navy color cardstock included in the kit to H 3-3/8” x W2-2/8’’ inches. Once, I had that step done, I went ahead to layer over the navy small card panel some of the die cut shapes, and once I had that done, I went ahead to mount it with a piece of craft foam to add dimension to the card base (as shown in the image above.)
Thus, to finish the card off I went ahead to glue down with liquid glue some gold sequins and I also got a die cut shape mounted to use it as the sentiment for the card.
For the third example, I made a shaker card using once again one of the Polaroid die cut shapes therefore, I went ahead to trim off the edges from this minty with white polka dots patterned paper sheet and then, I’ve gotten it adhere with double-sided tape to one of the white card base.
Once, I had that step done, I went ahead to set the card base off to the side and then, I went ahead to adhere a piece of acetate to the back of the Polaroid die cut shape using double-sided tape. Thus, after I had finished adhering the acetate, I went ahead to add pieces of craft foam tape to raise dimension and once I had that done, I went ahead to add a quite amount of WRMK Glitter Mix over the card base and I immediately went ahead to peel off the backing of the craft foam tape to get the Polaroid die cut shape mounted over the glitter.
Moving on, after I’ve gotten the shaker Polaroid over the card base, I went ahead to embellished by adhering a chipboard sticker over the shaker window and then, I mounted with a square foam adhesive the die cut shape hearts as well as a sentiments which I’ve had previously stamped over a piece of white cardstock using one of the sentiments from the stamp set included in the kit along with Detail Black Ink.
For the fourth example, I made a very dimensional bookmark using one of the die cut shapes in a tag/bookmark shape.
As simple as it is, I went ahead to follow the shape of the tag to add sturdiness by adhering it over a piece of patterned paper and a piece of white cardstock which, right afterwards got cut the ends with a small pair of scissors.
That said, to embellish it I went ahead to tie a piece of lace ribbon which I finished with a tied bow on the top of the bookmark. As for the sentiment, I’ve got it mounted with square foam adhesives one of the die cut shapes and to finish it off, I went ahead to mount as well as some of the die cut die cut gold hearts and a butterfly.
For the fifth example, I made an interactive card so therefore, I went ahead to trim off the edges of one of the patterned paper sheets and I’ve got it adhered with double-sided tape to one of the white card bases.
Next, I went ahead to create a dotted white frame with a pop of gold using white and gold cardstock along with some of the dies from Nestabilities Essential Rectangles Etched Dies Set. That said, after I’ve had created the dotted frame, I went ahead to mount it with a piece of craft foam to add dimension over the card base.
Moving on, to embellish the card I went ahead to pick up some of the die cut shapes and then, I’ve got glue down with liquid glue the kitty die cut shape over the white dotted frame. Then, I went ahead to get two sentiments stamp and gold heat embossing over a note die cut shape and over a strip of white cardstock which right afterwards I’ve gotten both layered together as shown in the image above. Having those steps done, I went ahead to use my gold gel pen to add a frame over the little note and then, I use a needle and a piece of metallic thread to makes it look like as if the kitty had it hanging with his paw so to do that, I used an X-Acto knife to create an opening under his paw. Lastly, I finished the interaction by adding dimension with a square adhesive behind his paw and by gluing with liquid glue the hanging note inside the opening that I created making it that way to slide from one side to the other.
NOTE: The sentiments are part of the stamp of the stamp set included in the card kit.
Forth the sixth and last example, I went ahead to use the flower stamp images, two sentiments along with its coordinating die and the die set which creates this cute, assembled kitty.
Therefore, I went ahead to trim off the edges from one of the patterned paper sheets and then, I’ve gotten it adhered over one of the white card base. Next, I went ahead to set it off to the side while I started the die-cutting process. Thus, for the die-cutting process, I went ahead to line up over a large piece of white cardstock each die that die-cut the parts of the kitty’s body. Then, I also went ahead to die-cut its collar, eyes, nose, and ears out of light pink, dark pink, gold and black cardstock. Having all die-cutting pieces ready to assemble, I went ahead to assemble the kitty and then, I’ve gotten it mounted with craft foam tape to the card base.
Lastly, to embellish the card I went ahead to glue down with liquid glue and foam mount some of the flowers which, I’ve had previously stamp in pink and orange colors over white cardstock and die-cutting using my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. For the flowers and large sentiment, I used the stamp set and die set included in the kit also, I used the greenery dies from the Large Die of the Month Club to complete the greenery (as shown in the image above.) Then, to finish the card off I went ahead to glue down with liquid glue some gold sequins and jewels along with a chipboard butterfly which I’ve gotten adhere it to the interactive kitty’s paw which by the way moves back and forth. With that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this set of 5 “Colorful & Dimensional” cards along with a dimensional “Bookmark” using Die Cut Shapes, Tags, Chipboard Stickers, Sequins, Die Set, Stamp Set and the Patterned Paper Pad included in JAN-2021 “Lucky Love” Card Kit of the Month by Spellbinders.
