Happy Saturday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a holiday season’s set of inspiration cards with a “Gnomie & Glimmering” look to showcase, the latest Gnome for Christmas Collection by Spellbinders. Which includes: Gnome Tree Etched Dies, Holly Jolly Gnome Etched Dies, Twilight Sparkle Strip Glimmer Hot Foil Plate, and Pretty Pine Background Clear Stamp Set. Besides that, I used Glimmer Hot Foil Roll: Aura, Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform, and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine for the hot foil stamping look. So, without further ado let’s jump right in to the step-by-step for how I made them ↓
Therefore, I started off by getting the hot foil stamping process done using my Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine along with Glimmer Hot Foil Roll: Aura. Thus, for the first example, I went ahead to use Twilight Sparkle Strip Glimmer Hot Foil Plate to get the image hot foil stamped twice over an A2 size white card panel to create the card background. Next, as soon as, I had finished the hot foil stamping, I proceeded to get the backing of the card panel adhered with my Permanent Tape Runner to an A2 size top folding white card base.
Once, I had finished getting the card panel adhered to the card base, I went ahead to put it aside and then, I used Gnome Tree Etched Dies to cut out the gnomes from Phone Booth Color Essentials Cardstock, Pink Sand Color Essential Cardstock, and Waterfall Color Essential Cardstock. Then, I used the smaller dies to cut out their noses from Barely Peach Color Essentials Cardstock and their shoes from Black cardstock. Lastly, I used the outlined die to cut out the base layer for the gnomes from White cardstock. Thus, after getting the die-cutting process done, I went ahead to get the gnome tree assembled mix and matching the colored die-cutting pieces over the base layer and then, I added their shoes and noses.
Moving on, after getting the gnome tree assembled, I went ahead to get the backing of it gluing down to the card base and then, I got the gnome tree embellished with the glittery die-cutting ornaments, ornament strings, and stars; die-cutting pieces which, I had previously die cut using the smaller dies included in the set along with a combination of Pop-Up Die Cutting Glitter Foam Sheets- Shimmering Tropics, Pop-Up Die Cutting Glitter Foam Sheets- Peony Pinks, Pop-Up Die Cutting Glitter Foam Sheets - Red & Green, and Pop-Up Die Cutting Glitter Foam Sheets - Gold & Silver to add them a touch of shine. Finally, after I had gotten the gnome tree embellished with the sparkling die-cutting pieces, I proceeded to finish the card off by getting a hot foil stamped sentiment mounted under the gnome tree just like, you see it in the image above. By the way, I used one of the glimmer plates from Glitter Wishes Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set for the card sentiment.
For the second example, I used the leftover foil along with PFS Solid Hot Foil Plate to do the reverse foiling over an A2 size white card panel. Next, after getting the reverse hot foil process completed, I went ahead to trim down 1/4 on an inch from each side of the card panel and then, I got the its backing adhered using once again my tape runner to an A2 size top folding white card base.
Once, I had gotten the card front card panel adhered to the card base, I went ahead to put it aside to die cut the interactive gnome using the dies included in Holly Jolly Gnome Etched Dies. Having that said, I went ahead to use the same cardstock and glitter foam hues to cut out the focal point pieces and to add depth to the die-cutting bow and mittens, I used R37, R83 and BG18 Copic Markers.
Lastly, I went ahead to get the gnome, bow and ornament assembled and once, I had that done, I used dimensional pieces to create the interactive for the gnome could swing side to side. This step is quite simple as all I did was to get the ornament assembled and then, I got gluing down the gnome over it. Next, I got the bow assembled it and then, I glued down one of the center pieces for the bow to the card and then, I added dimensional pieces over it to hang out the ornament. It is very important to leave the top part of the ornament string, the gnome and bottom part of the ornament free of adhesive for the interaction part. Having that said, after hanging the ornament out to the dimensional, I proceeded to finish the card off by getting the bow adhered to the card.
This collection includes, Pretty Pine Background Clear Stamp Set so, I went ahead and use this stamp to get an A2 size white card panel stamped using an ink hue close to the waterfall cardstock hue. That said, after getting the stamping done, I used my Paper Trimmer to trim off the edges smaller than the card base and then, I got the backing of the smaller card panel adhered with craft foam adhesive to an A2 size top folding white card base.
Once, I had the front card panel adhered to the card base, I finish the card off by getting it embellished using a heat embossing sentiment and by gluing down two mini envelopes. By the way, I used embellishing elements from previous projects on which I used Parcel & Post Mailbox Etched Dies and Parcel & Post Sentiments Clear Stamp Set to make them.
And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this holiday season’s set of inspiration cards with a “Gnomie & Glimmering” look showcasing the latest Glimmer Greetings Collection by Spellbinders.
