Happy Wednesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a very intricate yet delicate “Happy Birthday” inspiration card made with touches of hand-stitching showcasing the latest, February-2022 “Oval Stitch & Border” Small Die of the Month Club Kit by Spellbinders. Along with it, I’ve also used February-2022 “Anytime Glimmer Sentiments” Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club Kit for the card sentiment + a small piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Polished Brass for the hot foil stamping process. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made it ↓
Therefore, this month’s Small Die of the Month Club Kit includes 10 cutting dies which 2 dies cut out the large oval frame, along with other 2 dies that cut out the split rim + 3 dies that cut out the smaller oval frame and another 3 that cut out a detailed strip. Having that said, to make this card first, I used the split dies along with the large and detailed insert oval die to cut out the stitched frame using my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine from white cardstock. Next, I used the smaller outer oval frame and its insert detailed die to cut out the small oval frame from white cardstock as well.
Thus, as soon as I had finished cutting both oval frame from white cardstock, I went ahead to put them off to the side while I kept going for the card panel die-cutting process. So, to do that, I used the straight insert die to add the stitched and detailed touch to an A2 size white card panel. And to be exact, this step took me 12 pass though my die cut machine to achieve the intricate and delicate effect.
Having that said, as soon as I’ve had finished adding the stitching detail to the card panel, I went ahead to put it off to the side, so I could move on to add the card sentiment in the center of the smaller oval using one of the card sentiments including in this month’s Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club Kit along with a small piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Polished Brass and of course my Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform for the hot foil stamping process.
Next, after I had finished adding the sentiment to the smaller oval, I’ve gone ahead to add the stitching detail to both intricate ovals using embroidery needles along with light and dark pink DMC floss. Although, this is a very detailed card, I promise to you that it does worth the extra labor of love making it.
So, as soon as I’ve had finished adding the stitching touch to the ovals, I’ve gone ahead to trim off the edges from a gold card panel a little bit smaller than the card base, and then I proceeded to get the backing of it adhered down with double-sided adhesive over an A2 side folding white card base in a landscaping form. Next, I went ahead to trim down the edges from the stitched white card panel and then, I proceeded to mount over it the large oval with craft foam adhesive to add dimension to it. Lastly, I repeated the same steps to get the smaller oval over the large oval and then, I got the backing of the stitched white card panel adhered with craft foam adhesive over the card base gold card panel but only partially adhering the back of the oval to create a loosely lacey effect if you will.
As you can see in the image above, the fold panel adds up a very delicate gold accent though the stitched details. Thus, to finish the card off, I’ve went ahead to glue down Gold Mix Color Essentials Gems using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue around the smaller oval to add an extra touch of sparkle to it. And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this intricate yet delicate “Happy Birthday” inspiration card showcasing the latest, February-2022 “Oval Stitch & Border” Small Die of the Month Club Kit by Spellbinders.
