Spellbinders DEC-2021 GOM┃Inspiration Card

Happy Friday, Friends! On today’s blog I’d like to share with you a very delicate and intricate glimmering “Everyday Greetings” inspiration card made with a combination of December’s 2021 “Botanical Crest” Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club Kit and this month’s Large Die of the Month Club Kit by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

Therefore, this month’s Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club includes three glimmer hot plates which one hot foil stamp the decorative glimmering botanical wreath + two that hot foil stamp the card sentiments. Along with the glimmering hot foil plates the kit also includes five dies which two of them cut out the outer and inner parts of the botanical wreath, and two that cut out the card sentiments + one die that cut out small flowers to embellish the wreath.

Having that being said, as per usual to make this card, I started off by setting up my Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine over my Crafter's Essential Cutting and Alignment Mat. And, once I had that step completed, I went ahead to turn on the glimmer hot foil platform, and while my platform was heating up, I went ahead to line up over a large piece of white cardstock the botanical glimmering hot plate. And, as soon as I had the glimmer plate line up over the white cardstock piece, I went ahead to cut a large piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll: Aura using my Quick Trimmer.

Thus, after getting the hot foil stamping done over the cardstock for the wreath, I went ahead to get the hot foil stamping as well for both card sentiments, and once I had that done, I quickly gone ahead to use the coordinating dies for the botanical wreath and card sentiments to cut them out from the cardstock. Next, after getting the die-cutting step done, I gone ahead to put the die-cutting pieces to the side, so I could move on to create the intricate card base.

As for the card base, I went ahead to create a gate-fold card in a landscaping form. So, to make it, I went ahead to place down a large piece of white cardstock with the following measurements W 11.0” x H 4-1/4” inches over my Scoring Board and then, I proceeded to trace some scoring line at 2-1/4” on each side of the cardstock piece. Then, I went ahead to fold the scoring lines over and then, as soon as I had that step done, I lined up over one opening flap of the card, the insert die that creates the stitching effect from this month’s Large Die of the Month Club. By the way, the insert die fit perfectly on each flap of the gate-fold card.

Moving on, as soon as I had finished adding the stitching details to one side of the card, I went ahead to do the same over the other opening flap, and once I had that done, I went ahead to set the card base of to the side. Meanwhile, I went ahead to use the other dies including in the kit to cut out the dainty layered pieces out of white cardstock as well. To keep it simple, I decided to skip the hand stitching step, so I layered the die-cutting pieces over the card base and then, I set the card base of to the side once again.

Meanwhile, I went ahead to create a 3D effect for the botanical wreath, so to do that, I went ahead to adhere with double-sided adhesive a piece of acetate to the backing of the hot foil stamped botanical wreath. Next, I added pieces of craft foam adhesive to the backing of the wreath and then, I got the wreath mounted over another die-cutting wreath, creating that way the 3D effect. I was tempted to make it as a shaker wreath, but I decided not to, to keep it simple yet elegant at the same time.

Lastly, I went ahead to partially glue down half part of the backing of the wreath to the left opening of the gate-fold card, and then, I got the larger card sentiment glued down in the center of it (as down in the image above.) Finally, to cover up the glue from the back of the card sentiment, I went ahead to glue down a second die-cutting sentiment to the other side of the wreath.

Finally, to finish the card off, I went ahead to glue down here and there around the botanical wreath some white jewels to add an extra pop of shine to the card. And, with that being said, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this delicate and intricate glimmering “Everyday Greetings” inspiration card with a combination of this month’s “Botanical Crest” Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club Kit and Large Die of the Month Club Kit by Spellbinders.
