Happy Saturday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a set of handmade cards with a “Ballerina” theme made using “Ballerina Sentiments” DEC-2020 Clear Stamp of the Month Club Kit which I’ve paired with “Look Behind the Curtain” DEC-2020 Large Die of the Month Club Kit both by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made them ↓
This month the “Ballerina Sentiments” DEC-2020 Clear Stamp of the Month Club coordinates well with “Look Behind the Curtain” DEC-2020 Large Die of the Month so, along with both club kits, I’ve also decided to add a touch of foil to the die-cutting curtain pieces thus, to do that, as per usual when I foil, I started by setting over my Crafter's Essential Cutting and Alignment Mat the Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine then, I turned on the glimmer hot foil platform.
Therefore, while the platform was heating up, I went ahead to line up the Framed Details Glimmer Hot Foil Plate over a white card panel. Next, I went ahead to cut a large piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Champagne using the Quick Trimmer for a perfect straight line and then, once the platform was ready to foil, I went ahead to get the card panel foiled. That said, after I’ve had finished the foiling, I proceeded to line up the curtain die over the foiled card panel and then I went ahead to die-cut 2 curtains as well as well as the veil out of it.
Thus, after I’ve had finished die-cutting the curtain pieces, I went ahead to die-cut the slots and rod set pieces for it therefore, after all die-cutting pieces were done, I went ahead to assemble the curtain following the instructions included in the Large Die of the Month Club Kit. That said, once the curtain was complete assembled, I went ahead to open it up and then I placed it inside my MISTI Stamping Tool to get the stamping done. So, for the stamping I carefully went ahead to line up the Ballerinas stamp image included in the Clear Stamp of the Month Club and then, I’ve got them stamped with Detail Black Ink. Next, I removed the ballerinas, and I went ahead to place the Happy sentiment which is designed to be stamp on their chest (as you can see in the image above)
Lastly, after I was done stamping the ballerinas and the sentiment, I went ahead to do a quick was of water-coloring over then and soon after I had that done and the panel was completely dry, I finished the whole design by stamping and heat embossing the Birthday sentiment underneath them (as shown in the image above) using once of the sentiments included in the club kit as well as WOW! Metallic Gold Rich. Finally, to finish the card off, I went ahead to close the curtains and then I’ve got it adhered with double-sided tape to a Pink card panel which right afterwards, I’ve got it adhered to an A2 side folding white card base.
If the first example was a bit overwhelming and sounded complicated to you, no worries the next example was much more easier as, all I did was to stamp the Ballerinas stamp image (as shown in the image above) over a white card panel using once again using Detail Black Ink. Next, after I had them stamp on the card panel, I went ahead to stamp the Hello sentiment in the same way that I did on the first example and to kept it simple I went ahead to watercolor them in using the same pastel hues that I’ve used for the first example.
Therefore, after I’ve had finished watercolor them in, I went ahead to set the card panel off to the side to let it dry. Meanwhile, I went ahead to get stamp and heat emboss over a piece of white cardstock the Friend sentiment included in the club kit. Thus, after I had the heat embossing done, I went ahead to line up over the heated emboss sentiment the die included in Everyday Sentiments II Glimmer Plate Set to die-cut it out from the white cardstock. That said, after I had the die-cutting sentiment done, I went ahead to layer it over a large strip of pink cardstock using craft foam tape to add a bit of dimension. Last but not least, I finished the card off by adding a dotted frame which I created using the largest die from Nestabilities Essential Rectangles Etched Dies Set which soon after I had the dotted frame, I went ahead to mount it with craft foam tape over a larger pink card panel which I’ve had previously adhere with double-sided tape to and A2 side folding white card base.
The Clear Stamp of the Month Club Kit also has 4 individual ballerinas stamp images so therefore, for the third example, I went ahead to create a background pattern over the card panel by stamping each of them in different places using Detail Black Ink. Thus, after I’ve had finished stamping them, I went ahead to quickly watercolor them in in the same way as I did the previous examples.
Moving on, after I’ve had finished stamping and watercolor them in, I went ahead to trim the edges off from the card panel and then, I went ahead to adhere the backing of it with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base. Lastly, I decided to make it as a shaker card so therefore, I went ahead to line up over an A2 size white card panel the 3 largest dies from Nestabilities Essential Rectangles Etched Dies Set to die-cut a dotted frame. That said, after I’ve had finished die-cutting the dotted frame, I went ahead to adhere a piece of acetate using strong double-sided tape and then I added pieces skinny pieces of craft foam tape to the perimeter to create dimension. Once, I had that step done, I went ahead to add sequins as my shaker elements and last but not least, I peeled off the backing of the craft foam tape and I finish the card off by mounting tape dimensional dotted frame over the card base.
In the image above, you can see how all of today’s examples look like and how the card with the curtain design looks like when is closed while in the image below, you can see how it looks like when is full open.
Therefore, as finishing touches, I went ahead to glue down here and there with liquid glue to the other 2 card some of the sequins that I used as the shaker elements for the shaker card complimenting that way the sparkle vibe between them. With that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve created this set of handmade cards with a “Ballerina” theme showcasing “Ballerina Sentiments” DEC-2020 Clear Stamp of the Month Club Kit and “Look Behind the Curtain” DEC-2020 Large Die of the Month Club Kit by Spellbinders.
