Happy Monday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’ll be sharing with you a set of 4 “Whimsical” inspiration cards plus, a matching tag made using Die Cut Shapes, Tags, Chipboard Stickers, Die Set and the Patterned Paper Pad included in APR-2021 “Sincerely Yours” Card Kit of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step for how I’ve made them ↓
As per usual with every Spellbinders’ Card Kit of the Month, I started by selecting the die cut shapes and patterned paper sheets that I was going to use to create each card so therefore, I went ahead to trim off the edges from this beautiful patterned paper sheet with the stamp images to H 5.0’’ x W 3-3/4’’ inches. Next, I went ahead to get the backing of it adhered with the double-sided tape included in the kit to one of textured white card bases also, including in the card kit.
Thus, as soon as I’ve had finished getting adhere the patterned paper to the card base, I went ahead to get the card embellished with one of the tag die cut shapes along with the mailbox, mailing letters, flowers and leaves die cut shapes to give the card a Happy Mail Greeting look.
Once, I’ve had finished embellishing the card with the die cut shapes (as shown in the image above), I’ve gone ahead to finish it off gluing down with liquid glue some of the sequins including in the card kit along with a tied bow which I’ve had pre-made by using a piece of metallic embroidery thread from my stash.
For the second card, I made a double gate card so therefore, I went ahead to fully open one of the textured white card bases including in the card kit and then, I went ahead to trim off one of the edges from it using my paper trimmer to 2-1/8’’ inches. Moving on, right after that I’ve gotten that step done, I’ve gone ahead to repeat the same steps in another textured white card base.
Therefore, once I’ve had finished trimming off the edge from the second card base, I went ahead to double-sided tape to one of the card bases and the, I’ve gotten them adhered together leaving the openings on each side for the double gate style.
Thus, after having the card ready to embellish it, I went ahead to trim off 2 pieces from one of the patterned sheets to W 2.0’’ x H 5-1/4’’ inches and then, I’ve gotten them adhered with double-sided tape to each side of the card openings. Lastly, to create the closure for the card, I went ahead to line up over a piece of white cardstock one of the smaller circle dies from Standard Circle LG Die Set and then, I ran them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine twice to get 2 die-cutting white circles. So, after having that step done, I went ahead to glue down one of them with liquid glue to the backing of the die cut shape that I’ve had previously selected as the closure the card and then, I’ve also adhered a piece of craft foam tape to it to add dimension. Lastly, I’ve gotten the last die-cutting circle adhered to it and last but not least, to finish the card off, I went ahead to add liquid glue to one half of the dimensional closure and then, I’ve gotten it glue down to the card base. And, as simple as that my double gate card opening was completed.
For the third example, I went ahead to trim off the edges from this beautiful blue floral-patterned paper to W 4.0’’ X 5-1/4’’ inches and then, I’ve gotten it adhere with double-sided tape to one of the textured card bases.
This month’s the card kit also includes these dimensional floral cluster stickers so to break down the busy floral-pattern and make the floral clusters stand out, I went ahead to mount over the card panel with skinny pieces of craft foam tape a dotted white frame which, I’ve had previously created using 3 dies from Nestabilities Essential Rectangles Etched Dies Set.
Thus, right after that I finished mounting the dotted frame, I went ahead to get adhered 2 of the floral cluster stickers in one of the upper and lower corners of the dotted frame. Then, to finish the card off, I’ve also gone ahead to mount with square foam adhesives one of the die cut shapes that has foiling and use it as the card sentiment.
April’s card kit also includes 2 large die cut shape tags so therefore, I went ahead to use them to create my fourth example.
Having that said, I went ahead to adhere them together using double-sided tape and then, I went ahead to add a charm which I’ve had previously created using beads and embellishments from my stash.
Moving on, to finish the tag off, I went ahead to layer together some of the die cut shapes along with one of the dimensional floral cluster stickers and then, I’ve gotten them adhere to the tag (as shown in the image above.) Finishing that way, the embellishment for the tag.
For the fifth card and last, I went ahead to create an interactive card using the die set including and the card kit so therefore, I created the card base by adhering with double-sided tape one of the patterned papers on which, I’ve had previously trim off its edges a bit smaller than the card base.
Thus, as soon as I’ve had finished adhering the patterned paper sheet over the card base, I went ahead to set it off to the side while I started the die-cutting for the envelope, flowers, and leaves. So, for the envelope, I went ahead to line up both envelope dies over a large piece of white cardstock and then, I ran them through the die-cutting machine. Once, I had that done, I went ahead to fold the scoring lines created by the envelope die and then, I’ve gotten the backing of it glue down with liquid glue to the card as well as the inner die-cutting piece.
Moving on, after having the envelope mounted over the card, I went ahead to die-cut a second white die-cutting insert piece or liner envelope if you will. Therefore, after having that step done, I went ahead to also die-cut a few flowers and leaves using the dies including in the set along with the following color cardstocks; Pink Sand, Dahlia, Wild Berry, Beeswax, Saffron, Rainforest and Gold. So, as soon as I’ve had finished die-cutting them, I went ahead to assemble each of them and then, I’ve created a floral cluster which right afterwards gotten glue down with liquid glue over the envelope liner ( as shown in the image above) thus, having that finished, I went ahead to mount a die cut shape on the upper side of the card as well as second die cut shape which I’ve gotten adhered it inside the envelope to create a continuous and surprise sentiment for the recipient to find once he or she interacts with it by pulling out the envelope liner.
So, here’s how it looks when the decorative insert or envelope liner is inside the envelope therefore, to finish the card off, I went ahead to glue down with liquid glue some of the sequins including in the kit as well as some tiny jewels from my stash to add a bit of shine!
