Sloane and Slater the Sloths Greeting Cards
Hello everyone! Are you in a need of a simple reminder for Slow down, and enjoy your day just like the sentiment from the new Sloane and Slater the Sloths Stamp Set? If so… Today I’d be sharing with you these two very simple cards that I made with the new Sloane and Slater the Sloths Stamp and Sloane and Slater the Sloths Crafting Die sets from the July’s release by Technique Tuesday.
That being said, I’d like to invite you to keep on reading this blog post ↓
To begin with, I started by stamping with Amalgam Black Ink the two sloths, and a few leaves from the Sloane and Slater the Sloths Stamp Set in a piece of white card stock. Next, I color the stamped images with Copic alcohol markers in the following colors.
Sloths: E00, E13, E15, E23, E25
Branches: E18, E25, E29
Leaves: YG17, YG67
Once the coloring was done, I ran through the die-cutting machine to die-cut all images with their coordinated dies from the Sloane and Slater the Sloths Crafting Die set. In the meantime, I also ran through the die-cutting machine a piece of white card stock to die-cut a label from the Essential Stitched Labels Crafting Dies as I was planning to gold heat emboss a sentiment from the same stamp set with Metallic Gold Rich Embossing Powder. Right after when I was done with the die-cutting, and heat embossing, I adhered the first sloth in the top side of the label with liquid glue, and I also tucked some leaves in underneath the branch as you can see in the picture above. At this point my idea was to adhere the backing of the label to a white card panel. However, I decided to add Kraft card stock as the card panel so, I decided to create my own leaves cluster by placing the three tiny leaves from the stamp set in an acrylic block. Once, the leaves were placed the way that I wanted them to be, I started to stamp the whole Kraft card panel with embossing ink as I wanted to add a little dimension to the leaves by adding Clear Gloss Embossing Powder. Lastly, after all the stamping, and heat embossing was done, I trimmed the edges of the card panel slightly smaller than the card base, and I adhered the backing of it to an A2 size top folding white card base with double sided tape followed for the label which I adhered in the center of the card with foam mounting tape for an extra dimensional look.
For the second card, I decided to add a few white splatters to the Kraft card panel. Then, I die-cut a label out of it by running the card panel, and one of the smaller dies from the Essential Stitched Labels Crafting Dies through the die-cutting machine. Right after when the die-cutting was done, I stamped with embossing ink one of the sentiments from the stamp set, and I white heat embossed it with Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. Lastly, I adhered the Kraft card panel to an A2 size top folding white card base with double sided tape, and I inlaid the sentiment with foam mounting tape to add dimension. To finish the card off, I adhered the second sloth, and the leaves at the end of the branch as you can see in the picture above.
Finally, to embellish these cards, I decided to add a little sparkle to them by adhering Moonshine Confetti Sequins here and there, and by adding Glossy Accent to the leaves for an extra shiny look.
So, that’s all for today friends! I hope these cards inspire you to give these designs, and the Sloane and Slater the Sloths Stamp and Sloane and Slater the Sloths Crafting Die Sets a try!
