Happy Tuesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a fun 3-dimensional “Mailbox” shaped inspiration card made with a colorful floral touch using: Mailbox Gift Holder Die, Mailbox Messages Stamp Set, Love & Flowers Stamp Set, and Love & Flowers Dies by The Stamp Market. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓
Therefore, this die it’s designed to create a slider gift card holder which, I’ve used as its original design back in December 2019. You can click the following link to check them out over my → Instagram Post. Having that being said, today I decided to add a little twist by adding an interaction and pop-up look.
Thus, I went ahead to line up over a large piece of white cardstock, the largest die including in Mailbox Gift Holder Die. Next, I proceeded to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to cut out the front and back for the mailbox.
Once, I had that step done, I’ve gone ahead to place one of the die-cutting pieces inside my MISTI Stamping Tool to get one of the sentiments including in Mailbox Messages Stamp Set stamped and gold heat embossing over it. Right after that I’ve got completed that step, I’ve gone ahead to trim down two small pieces of white cardstock using my Comfort Paper Trimmer to 2-3/4” x 2-3/4” inches. Thus, as soon as I’ve had finished trimming down the white cardstock pieces, I went ahead to place each of them over my Scoring Board to trace some scoring lines on the right and left sides of the cardstock pieces at 1/4” of an inch mark. By the way, these two pieces are the ones that go in each side of the mailbox.
Moving on, to create the inside pieces, I went ahead to trim down three pieces of white cardstock to W 4.0” x H 2-1/4” inches. Next, I placed each of them over my scoring board to trace a score line on each side at 1/2” inch mark keeping the long side in width. So, as soon as I’ve had finished adding the scoring lines, I’ve moved on to fold them over and then, I’ve quickly gone ahead to get them adhered by putting the mailbox together as shown in the image above.
Here’s a side look for you to see how simple it is once you get the hang of it. That said, after putting the mailbox together, I went ahead to put it off to the side to start the embellishment for it. But, before the embellishments, I went ahead to use the insert die including in the mail box set to cut out three insert pieces. This step was not necessary as I could have adhered the flowers and greenery directly over the inserts that I created however, if you see closely, I was going to ended up with the flowers completely cover by the round shape of the mailbox, so by adding the tabs, I added more height to make them pop-up over the rounded shape from the mailbox.
Lastly, for the floral touch , I used Love & Flowers Stamp Set, and Love & Flowers Dies, and TSM Inks. The hues I used are Blush Pink, Bubble Gum, Cheeky, Peach, Coral, Papaya, Leafy Green, Citrine, Curry, Tropical Teal, and Island. Along with this set, I used a greenery die set from my stash to add a fuller look to it.
So, after getting the stamping and die-cutting process done for the flowers and greenery, I went ahead to create clusters and then, get them adhered over each insert. Next, I went ahead to test out if the mailbox folded flat on each side without a problem.
And, once I made sure that it flatten onto each side, I went ahead to use one of the smaller dies including in the mailbox set to create a few mini greeting cards because, there isn’t a completed mailbox without some handmade or hand-stamped cards, am I right!??
To keep it simple and cohesive, I used the same cardstock hues to create the mini handmade cards as well. Also, to add a space to write a personal message, I went ahead to cut out another solid mailbox piece which, you can slightly see it in the bottom part of the image above and then I’ve got it inserted to the mailbox.
And, with that being said friends, I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this fun 3-dimensional “Mailbox” shaped inspiration card with a colorful floral touch using products by The Stamp Market.
