Queen of Hearts Greeting Cards

Queen of Hearts Greeting Cards

Happy Thursday, beautiful crafters! On today’s blog I’d love to share the cards that I’ve made using the new WOW! Queen of Hearts embossing powder. Oh My! Please, don’t tell me that you aren’t loving the cool effect that this powder adds to the cards. As, I really do love the cool marbling/granite effect from this powder. I know it could be hard to see the cool effect through the screen in pictures but, I tried my best capturing the effect to share them with y’all so…without further ado. Please keep on reading the post. ↓

For the first example, I started by running through an A2 size white card panel with the largest heart die from the Sorry Hearts Die Set. Next, I heat embossed the heart from the die-cutting by completely covering the heart with Embossing Ink so I could have a sticky surface for the WOW! Queen of Hearts to adhere before, I started to apply the heat from the Heat Embossing Gun Tool. Once, I was done heat embossing the heart I also white heat embossed the negative die-cutting which happened to be the card panel that I was going to use for the card. So, for the card panel I used Diamonds are Forever Background Stamp along with Opaque Bright White embossing powder and, as soon as I was done with heat setting it, I trimmed the edges of the white card panel and I adhered the backing of it to an A2 top folding white card base with foam mounting tape. Right after, I inlaid the heart to the card panel. At that point, I could have left it just the way that was but, I decided to add a frame to the heart and for that I used the second die from the Sorry Hearts Die Set which die-cuts a heart frame. So, I ran through the die-cutting machine the heart die to die-cut it out of white card stock. Once the frame was done, I adhered the backing of it on top of the heart with liquid glue. Lastly, I white heat embossed in a piece of black card stock a sentiment from the Round & Round Stamp Set with Opaque Bright White embossing powder and, to finish the card off I trimmed and adhered off set the backing of the sentiment with foam mounting to add extra dimension to the card.

For the second card, I started by repeating the same steps as the previous example however, as you can see I off set the heart before die-cutting it. As for the card panel background instead of using a background stamp, I used a heart stamp from the Hello Lovely Stamp Set. So, to create the background, I started by stamping with Embossing Ink the hearts until the whole card panel was covered then, I added Opaque Bright White and I heat set it with the Heat Embossing Gun Tool. Next, as usual I trimmed the edges of the card panel and I adhered the backing of it to an A2 top folding white card base with double-sided tape. Right after that, I decided to add dimension to the heart so, I ran though the die-cutting machine the heart once again to die-cut it out of craft foam which soon after the die-cutting I adhered it to the backing of the heat embossed heart. Lastly, I inlaid the dimensional heart to the card panel and to finish the card off, I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Hello Lovely Stamp Set in a piece of black card stock which right afterwards, I trimmed and adhered to the bottom left side of the heart.

And… that’s all for today friends, I hope these cards inspire you to give these designs a try! As always, I appreciate the time you take to read my blog posts. Down below you’ll find the supply list for the products used on this blog post.

Note: Because, this embossing powder has granulated particles that create the effect is a MUST to heat emboss your projects from the bottom, NOT from the top as we all usually do otherwise, the powder will fly away from the surface.

Thank you and happy crafting, your time is valuable.
Don't forget to keep spreading kindness, Today and Always.

Best,
Yasmin
