Happy Tuesday, Friends! Today, I’d love to share with you the card and bookmark made using The Stamping Village’s collaborative stamp set called “We Stand with You” This stamp set was designed by 12 members of The Stamping Village, including sentiments & images about inclusion, love, kindness and doing the right thing.
“Standing Together” the Stamping Village is committed to listening, learning and change. As part of a pledge by The Stamping Village to donate $10,000 for racial justice, 100% net profits from every We Stand With You stamp set sold will be donated to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made this card and bookmark representing Pinkfresh Studio sentiment ↓
To begin with, I started by lining up the largest die from the Essentials: Stitched Rectangles Die Set over one sheet from “My Favorite Story” collection patterned paper pad. Next, I ran them through the die-cut machine and once I had added the detail stitching to the card panel, I adhered the backing of it with double-sided tape to an A2 side folding Kraft base.
So therefore, after I had the card base ready, I set it and I moved along to die-cut the white intricate mandala. So, to do that I lined up over a white card panel the solid die from the Intricate Mandala Die Set to die-cut the base, then I lined up the solid die and the intricate inner die from the set over another white card panel, and I ran them through the die-cut machine to die-cut the intricate layer.
Once, I had both die-cutting layer from the intricate mandala, I stacked them both and I mounted the mandala with craft foam and double-sided tape to the card base. Then right after that, I went ahead to stamp the sentiment with Detail Black Ink over a piece of white cardstock, and once I’ve had it stamped I lined up one of the dies from the Essentials: Fancy Label Frames Die Set to die-cut it out of the white cardstock. Lastly, after I had the sentiment I decided to add a gold frame to it so, I went ahead and used a larger die from the same set to die-cut a second label out gold cardstock.
So, after I had both die-cutting label complete, I mounted the sentiment over the gold label with square dimensional adhesives to add dimension, and I adhered down with double-sided tape the label afterwards in the center of the intricate mandala. Then, to embellish the card, I adhered down some butterflies which I had stamp over white cardstock using the butterfly stamp included in the stamp set and Marigold, Coral Reef, Ballet Slipper and Storm inks. Also, I adhered in one of the upper corners of the label a paper bow which I made using the Artistic Bows Die Set and a piece of patterned paper and last, but certainly not least to finish the card off, I added enamel dots to add an extra dimensional look.
For the bookmark, I ran through the die-cut machine the smaller die from the Slim Ornate Banner Set to die-cut the slim banner out of Kraft cardstock. So therefore, after I had the slim banner die-cutting done, I lined up over it the leftover piece of patterned paper that I have left from the previous example and carefully fussy cut with small scissors the edge of the patterned paper following the edge design.
So, after I had fussy cut the edge off from the patterned paper, I placed it over my scoring board, and I scored a line at 1/4 of an inch. Then right after, I folded the scoring line and I adhered it edge to edge with skinny double-sided tape adding that way a hinge for the bookmark could open and close.
Once, I had that step done I finished the bookmark off by adhering down a sentiment which I had created in the same way as I did in the previous example, and by adhering also a paper bow, a butterfly and enamel dots to complement the look from the matching card. With that being said, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step by step on how I’ve created today’s card and matching bookmark using The Stamping Village’s collaborative stamp set called “We Stand with You”.
