Hugs & Love You┃Shaker Inspiration Cards

Happy Monday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a glimmering set of “Shaker” inspiration cards made with a colorful look using: Hugs Layering Die, Love Potion Shaker Die, Love & Confetti Die, and Hugs Layering Die to make the shaker designs. Also, Bold Hearts Hot Foil Plate and Simply Plaid Foil Plate from the newest release by The Stamp Market. Along with this set, I used Solid Hot Foil Plate by Pinkfresh Studio to create the reverse hot foil stamping for the card backgrounds. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made them ↓

Therefore, I started off by getting the hot foil stamping process done, so to do that, I went ahead to line up the Solid Hot Foil Plate over my Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform. Then, I proceeded to get the reverse hot foil stamping done over a large piece of white cardstock using my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine along with a piece the negative leftover pieces that I had left from the hot foil stamping that I made for previous examples. Thus, as soon as I had finished the reverse hot foil stamping, I’ve gone ahead to place the platform off to the side and then, I proceeded to create the first example.

So, for the shaker bits I used Love & Confetti Die to cut the hearts and saying from Cheeky, Peony, Papaya, Melon Orange, Curry, Tropical Teal, and Island colored cardstock. Once, I had that step done, I’ve gone ahead to put the die-cutting confetti off to the side to cut out the detailed stitched frame for the shaker window. Therefore, to do that, I used white cardstock along with the largest die including in Stitched Shaker Windows Die. Next, to keep going with the die-cutting process, I went ahead to use Hugs Layering Die to cut out its shadow layer from Gold, Diamond Glitter Cardstock and White cardstock. Then, I’ve got cut out its top layer from Cheeky colored cardstock.

Moving on, after getting the die-cutting process completed, I’ve gone ahead to trim the edges down from the hot foil stamped card panel and then, I created the shaker window over it using the die-cutting frame and die-cutting shaker bits. Next, to add even more shine, I added Crystal Confetti as well. Also, I used acetate and craft foam adhesive to seal the shakers frame. Lastly, I went ahead to finish the card off, so to do that, I layered the large Hugs word by layering all pieces together a little bit offset to the right creating that way a slightly glittery and gold shadow. Having that being said, I went ahead to get mounted layered word over the shaker window and then, I moved on to make the second example.

As for the second example, I used Love Potion Shaker Die, so I went ahead to cut out the pieces using the dies including in the set from white cardstock and one of the solid pieces from one of the reverse hot foil stamping panels to create the gold background for the potion bottle.

Therefore, I went ahead to create the shaker window over the potion bottle using the die-cutting pieces along with die-cutting hearts as my shakers bits. Hearts, which were part from the die-cutting confetti. This set includes the tag, heart, ribbon, and the Love You word, so I went ahead to get the potion bottle embellished using each of them in the way as shown in the image above.

Lastly, to make this Love You position bottle even cuter, I went ahead to make it a shaped card, so to do that, I went ahead to cut out another solid piece from white cardstock and then, I create a small hinge from a small piece of white cardstock. A little piece that measured 5/8” of an inch, then scored in half.

Thus, to finish this cute Love You potion bottle shaped card, I went ahead to get the base and shaker window together with double-sided adhesive using the smaller scored cardstock piece creating that way the spine or hinge for the shaped card.
