To begin with let me start by telling you a little bit of the story behind this alcohol background. I created this alcohol background back on November 2018, and to be honest I didn’t like at all the way it turned out. So, I kept it inside of my scrap drawer before I gave up on it. I usually keep pieces of scraps as you never if you can use them in future projects.
So, while I was cleaning and selecting my scrap pieces the other day, I came across with it once again so I give it another try before I tossed it in the trash bin.
I kept adding and adding alcohol solution until the ugly dark blackish color tuned out into a pretty purplish with touches of dark pink, wine, and yellow color.
And, let me tell you. I really loved the way it turned because, after re-inking the whole background I decided to take a step further by foiling the whole thing, YAY! And…This was my absolutely favorite part!
For the foiling I used Copper Fab Foil, and after the foiling was done I turned it into two cards. For the first card I used half of the 5.5 X 8.5 sheet, which I trimmed down into a H 5.0’’ X W 3.5’’ panel. But, because this was a smaller panel than a standard A2 size card base I decided to add a second panel. So, I adhered the backed of it with liquid glue to a H 5.25’’ X W 3.75’’ white card panel creating a little bit of dimension with the layering. Right after, when both panels were adhere together. I adhered the backed of the panel with double sided foam mounting tape to the A2 size white card base that I previously folded and scored in half.
Finally, to finish the card off. I ran through the die cutting machine pieces of white card stock along with the Skinny Upper Letters Die to create the white Hello for the card. To complemented the Hello I created a sub-sentiments by heat embossing a Friend word in a piece of white card stock. Then, I adhered the whole sentiment to the card. (I used liquid glue to adhere the Hello, and foam mounting tape to adhere the Friend part.)

For the second card I white on white a background panel by using a background floral stamp. Once, the heat embossing was melted I adhered the backed of the card panel with double sided foam mounting tape to the other white card base that I had previously scored, and folded in half.
To finish the card off I heat embossed once again the same Friend sentiment in a piece of white card stock. Also, I used the other half of the alcohol background to die-cut the Hello out of it. As you can see I also use a piece of scrap from it to adhered the backed of the friend sentiment before I adhered it to the card with foam mounting tape.
So, that’s all for today friends, I hope these cards inspire you to give another chance to the unwanted or unlike results from any alcohol backgrounds that you might have in your scraps. And, of course! I hope they also inspire you to give the challenge a try! As, always I appreciate the time you take to read my blog posts.
