Dog and Cat Dress up Cards

Dog and Cat Dress up Cards

Hi friends, welcome to another blog post! On today’s blog I’m featuring the new Dog and Cat Dress Up stamp set from the new FRESH BLOOM release by Simon Says Stamp This stamp set it’s so adorable without mention how versatile can be, as you can create different designs out of it by dressing the Cat and Dog up with all of the different accessories included in the stamp set. So, without further ado keep on reading the blog!

To begin with I started by stamping in a big piece of white card stock all the images from the stamp set with copic friendly black ink. Next, I colored them with the following copic marker combinations﹕
‒ Dog E11, E13, E15, R00, R22
‒ Cat T0, T2, R00, R20
Once the coloring was done, I started working on the card panel by inking it up a piece of white card stock with Mowed Lawn distress oxide ink using the ‒ Grassy Edges stencil to create the appearance of grass. And… ‒ Cloudy Edges Mix-ables stencil with Tumbled Glass and a hint of Mowed Lawn to create the clouds. After the card panel was all inked up, I fussy all the images that I had colored with the copic markers. In the meanwhile I started the card layout by adhering the dog, the sentiment, and the cat. However, for the cat I used foam mounting tape as I wanted to add dimension between the cat and the dog. Shortly afterwards, I adhered the bow to the dog along with a few sequins here and there just to add a little bit of sparkle, and to finish it off I adhered the card panel to a side folding A2 standard size card base.

For the second example I colored both the cat and the dog with the same color combination:T0, T02, T04, R00, and R11. As for the scarf, I used R20, R22 and R24. And last but not least for the tie and glasses, I used T02, T04 and T06. Once the coloring was done, I fussy cut once again all the images.
For the card panel, I inked up a piece of white card stock with Squeezed Lemonade distress oxide ink using one of the stencil from the Honey Bee Ocean Scene Builder set. Next I started the card layout by adhering the dog, and the cat with liquid glue. Then I adhered the sentiment, that I had previously stamped with black ink in a piece of black card stock to it with foam mounting tape. As you can see I also used the same idea for the sentinment as the previous example by adding a black edge to it. Afterwards, I adhered the card panel to the white card base, and as a finishing touch I adhered three tiny red hearts. Because… Cat is loving Dog’s style! Don’t they look glamorous?

For the last example I created a Birthday card, using the same color combinations that I used in the first example to color the dog and the cat, and basically the same card layout. However, I skipped the red tones on this one. As this was a birthday theme, I inked a white card panel up using the Falling Stars stencil with Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Squeezed Lemonade. I also used a piece of orange tone card stock for the sentiment edges. For their party hats, I used the same color combination that I used for the scarf in the second example. Last but certainty not least, I finished the card off by adhering the card panel to the white side folding card base along with some iridescent sequins, and a few highlight by using a white gel pen.
