Happy Friday, crafty friends! It’s feature Friday and actually the last week as Concord&9th guest designer so therefore today, I’d like to share with you this set of “Wintry” cards that I’ve made using Festive Friends Bundle and Let It Snow Turnabout Stamp Set along with their Ink Cubes Bundle. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I’ve made them ↓
To begin with, I started by creating a standard A2 size card using Let It Snow Turnabout Stamp Set and Festive Friends Bundle so therefore, I started by creating the background for the card so to do that first, I’ve started by placing inside my MISTI Stamping Tool the largest JIG from the Turnabout Jigs set. Second, I’ve lined up the turnabout alignment aid included in the Let It Snow Turnabout Stamp Set, and once I’ve had them lined up, I lined up the stamp. Last but not least, I’ve removed the alignment aid and I quickly went ahead to line up and temporarily adhere with Repositionable Adhesive Dots a white Strathmore Watercolor Paper (card panel) over the JIG. Thus, after I’ve had gotten the card panel onto place, I started the stamping so, for the stamping I used, WOW! Embossing Pad.
Then, after I’ve finished stamping I went ahead to remove the card panel out of the stamping tool, and soon after I’ve added white heat embossing powder and I’ve gone ahead to heat set the powder until it was completely melted. Thus, after I’ve finished heat embossing the card panel, I’ve gone ahead to temporarily tape it down over my Make Art Mini Stay-Tion All-in-One Magnetic Surface and then, I added a quick watercolor wash using Ballet Slipper, Aqua Sky, Midnight and Dove inks included in the Ink Cube Bundle.
Moving on, I’ve gone ahead to stamp one of the girls from the Festive Friends Bundle using Dove ink, and once I’ve had it stamped, I went ahead to watercolor the image using a Pink, Brown and Peach hues along with a touch of gold. So, after I’ve had the water-coloring done, I’ve gone ahead to trim the edges down from the card panel and I adhered it down with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base. Next, I’ve lined up the coordinated die for the water-colored image and once I’ve had it line up, I’ve gone ahead to run them though the die-cut machine. Thus, after I’ve the die-cut piece, I mounted it with craft foam tape to the right side of the card. Then right after that, I’ve gone ahead to glue down (as shown in the image above) 3 die-cutting snowflakes which I’ve had previously die-cut out of a leftover watercolor piece using the snowflake die from the Iconic Christmas Bundle. Lastly, to finish the card off, I’ve gone ahead to heat emboss and die-cut the Let It Snow sentiment 3X (as shown in the image above) using the banner from the Seasonal Sayings Bundle and WOW! Metallic Gold Rich. And, as a finishing touch I’ve glued down here and there with liquid glue jewels to add a touch of shine.
For the second example, I’ve made a slimline card so to do that, I’ve gone ahead to get a slimline watercolor panel using the same color ink combination.
Therefore, after I’ve had watercolor the card panel, I’ve gone ahead to set it aside to let it air dry. Meanwhile, I’ve gone ahead to stamp and watercolor the second girl image from the stamp set, and once I’ve had the water-coloring done, I’ve gone ahead to set it aside to dry.
Moving on, after I’ve finished the water-coloring and it was completely dry, I went ahead to place the water-colored card panel inside my stamping tool and then, I lined up the largest sentiment from the stamp on the top side of the card panel as well as the small snowflakes stamp images from the turnabout stamp. Lastly, I’ve gone ahead to get them stamp and heat embossed, once I’ve had that step done, I’ve gone ahead to trim the edges off from the card panel and I mounted it with craft foam tape to a slimline white card base. Finally, after I’ve mounted the card panel over the card base, I’ve gone ahead to die-cut the girl image but, before I’ve mounted the die-cutting image to the bottom part of the card, I also gone ahead to heat emboss 2 small Christmas tree on each of the die-cut images. So, after I’ve done that step, I’ve mounted the girl as well as the little gifts which I’ve had die-cut and heat emboss on a leftover watercolor piece.
With that being said, to finish the slimline card off, I’ve gone ahead to glue down here and there with liquid glue some jewels and last but not least, I added a touch of extra sparkly-texture by adding WOW! Starlight Sparkles and WOW! Glass Slipper Sparkles to the tree.
