Pinkfresh Studio March 2023 Washi, Stamp, Die, and Stencil Release ▏ Blog Hop

Happy Release Day, Crafters! Today, Pinkfresh Studio is celebrating its March 2023 Washi, Stamp, Die, & Stencil Release with a fabulous blog hop. Therefore, if you’re hopping along with us, welcome as you should have arrived here from TaeEun’s Blog. However, if this is your starting point, I’d like to invite you to start from the → Pinkfresh ‘Blog or by clicking the direct link provided below which will have the list of this blog hop.

So, today I’d like to share a dimensional and interactive card inspiration with a “Slider & Floral” look showcasing: the just-released A2 Slider Die to add the interactive effect. Along with this die, I also have used from this release the Artistic Magnolias Washi, Artistic Magnolias Stamp, and Artistic Magnolias Die to add the floral look. Lastly, I also used the Artistic Bows Die Set. So, without further ado, let me share how I made it. ↓

Therefore, for the slider mechanism, I lined up the large die included in the die set over a large piece of white cardstock, and then I ran them through the die-cut machine. Next, I lined up the metal die with the stitching details over another piece of white cardstock and ran them through the die-cut machine. Lastly, I lined up the insert tag die over another piece of white cardstock and also ran them through the die-cut machine.

Next, right after getting the die-cutting steps for the slider mechanism pieces, I used the stitched lines to fold over the center part of the die-cutting piece that moves up and down. Thus, after getting that step completed, I put the die-cutting pieces for the slider mechanism aside to cut the die-cutting floral pieces out of the just-released Artistic Magnolias Washi.

To continue, I unrolled the washi and got it adhered down over a large piece of white cardstock. Next, I used scissors to cut out the end of the washi, and then I got the Artistic Magnolias Die lined up over the washi. Once I had the die line up over the cardstock, I ran them through the die-cut machine. Then, after getting the die-cutting step completed, I selected some of the die-cutting pieces to create a wreath with them in the center part of the slider mechanism.

Thus, I started getting the floral die-cutting pieces glued in the bottom part of the middle part of the fold in the slider mechanism piece. Next, I got the rest of the die-cutting pieces glued to the backside of the ones already glued down over the fold. However, I would like to mention that it’s crucial to get them carefully glued so the back side of the wreath can be free of any adhesive to let the upper and lower folds fold without any problem. Therefore, after getting the wreath glued over the top part of the slider mechanism, I continued to get the tag embellished with the larger floral die-cutting piece.

Moving on, before getting the slider tag attached to the top part of the mechanism and the mechanism attached to its base, I used one of the sentiments included in the Artistic Magnolias Stamp to get it stamped with Warm Buff Ink in the bottom part of the base. By the way, I used the stamping tool to get the sentiment stamped over the die-cutting base.

Thereupon after getting the sentiment stamped to the base, I proceeded to get the slider mechanism assembled.

So, I added liquid glue to the backside of the smaller fold, and then I got the lower front part of the tag attached to the fold. Thus, after getting that step completed, I confirmed that the slider effect worked perfectly by sliding up and down without a problem. Next, I added strips of craft foam adhesive to the edges of the slider mechanism to raise a little dimension, and then I got the backing side of the craft foam adhesive peeled off to get the slider mechanism adhered to its base.

In the image above, you can see closely how the tag is attached to the interactive piece and how the wreath looks over the fold. By the way, I would like to mention that as the card's finishing touches, I used one of the dies from the Artistic Bows Die Set to create a decorative bow and another sentiment from the same stamp set to add a complementary card sentiment over the wreath.

Finally, to get the card completed, I got the slider mechanism adhered over an A2-size top folding white card base.

By the way, I’m sure you will find other ways to use this interactive slider die. So, as for me, I did not want to miss this opportunity to share that I used the tag die only to create a decorative friendship tag using the extra floral die-cutting pieces and another of the card sentiments included in the stamp set.

Also, I used the dies to create a decorative bow to add the bow as embellishing.

And, with that being said friends, I hope this dimensional and interactive card inspiration with a “Slider & Floral” look inspires you to give these sets a try!
